Baby It's Cold Outside

Photography for most photographers is a seasonal job. Not very many clients want pictures in the winter, however we were lucky enough to have quite a few this year. Two of them were outside in the FREEZING cold. We love our clients that much, and often have found that the freezing cold weather can make fantastic photoshoots.

One of the photoshoots was a family photoshoot, they don't get to see each other very often because they live in different areas. They all were gathered for Christmas, and wanted to get some family pictures taken. It was a chilly day in downtown Boise, but we toughed it out. We went to Freak Ally, and some other iconic photo places downtown including the Capital. The kids were such great sports and were so cute to boot. Take a look, but you may want to wear a jacket to prevent getting cold.... JK.

We often get photo inspirations and need models (volunteers) and often our ideas turn into a whole new photoshoot that we never imagined. This next one kind of ended up that way. With all the beautiful snow that we received this last winter, Mark and I have often wanted to do a winter photoshoot, and involve the snow some how. It takes the right kind of people to volunteer for that photoshoot, they have to be ok with being cold, and getting wet from the snow. Well one of frequent customers/ friends referred her friend to us. They had an exciting annoucement to make.... they were having a baby and wanted to incorporate an idea they had. We always welcome ideas. This was a fun way to annouce to their family they were expecting... and we are so thankful they volunteered and let us be part of this photoshoot. Plus their daughter is the cutest little girl ever!! Take a look at this beautiful photoshoot and Maddy who had the most beautiful blue eyes.

It's Been Awhile.....

Wow it's been 6 months since we've blogged....Life has gotten the better of us and made us so busy. We recently both changed jobs and we are coming up on our last semester of school (in fact now just a few months). We have been extremely busy managing both school and work that our blog has been neglected. Let me update you on a few photoshoots we have done in the last six months.

First we will start off with Audree.

We got to take pictures of Audree for Christmas. This gave me an excuse to set up my Christmas stuff early which I LOVE! If you know me you know how much I love Christmas, and how my house gets decorated during the season. Mark just hates it when I get to set up Christmas earlier than anticipated. This is where we have agreed to disagree on when a good time to decorate for Christmas is. Hehehehe. Audree was a great sport, although we didn't get much smiles from her... come to find out she actually was sick that day and had a fever. I give the little girl props because if I had a fever I would have been all tears in front of the camera. She is such a sweet little girl, and we just adore her parents Andy and Terra. They recently found out they are expecting baby number 2, so hopefully we will get to take pictures of the new member soon.

Since we are on the subject of Chrismas... we will move onto Annabelle's Christmas photos. Now Annabelle has been a subject in our photography for the last three years. Her mom was a dear friend of mine, and unfortuately due to career changes I have lost touch with her. Annabelle is always a joy to photograph, and Katie has allowed us to have creative rights to our photography sessions. You may remember  a Spring session last year with a little girl playing with bubbles and paint??That was Annabelle. She always has a big smile on her face and embraced us with hugs that day. We miss Annabelle and her mom very much. Check out this great session. Warning: There was a toddler meltdown that was caught on camera.

Even though its 6 months late...we hope that all of you had a great Christmas!

A Man's Best Friend

So we have some serious dog lovers in our families (including ourselves) so Mark and I thought it would be fun to make a Dog Calendar for Christmas presents. We had a blast doing this. We had some dogs that were little posers (the good kind), and some dogs that were more hyper and hard to catch them sitting still. Some were a challenge and some were a breeze. But overall we had fun putting the project together. So here are the photos! Fun huh?

A Beautiful Bronco Day

Wow so here it is almost New Years and I haven't blogged about this fun and beautiful wedding we did back in October. I am so behind on my blogging!!!! I'm so sorry Rayvin and Justin. Rayvin is a friend of mine from my years in middle school. She asked us to take her wedding photos, I thought was really special.
Rayvin and Justin got married on October 20th, and was sporting Boise's favorite colors Blue and Orange.

Rayvin looked absolutely stunning.... I loved her dress (I thought about stealing it. ;) JK!). But it was definately my kind of dress.... a princess dress. It had beautiful ruffles and rhinestones. Rayvin wore this beautiful head band and hair net. She had blue and orange heels. The bridesmaids wore blue dresses with orange sashes, except for the Maid of Honor who wore a silver dress. The jr bridesmaid and flower girl work blue and orange tutus. SO CUTE!

We met the boys at the train depot for some pictures. Each party stepping out of the limo for the big reveal moment. This is my favorite moment with any wedding, you just can't help but smile. Of course Justin was impressed with his beautiful bride. This group was so fun and easy to take photos of, and than Mark and I got to enjoy the couple's company for some individual shots.

The wedding was out in Nampa at a fairly new event place. I loved the high ceilings and the modern feel that the place gave off. When Rayvin's dad walked her down the aisle he spun her, which I thought was so sweet. We can officially say we've never seen that before. This ceremony was full of laughter and tears. Right before the bride walked down the aisle I heard the groom, Justin, say to the officient that he hadn't been this excited in a really long time. Justin was beaming, even before Rayvin walked down the aisle.

My favorite moment though throughout the night was the first dances. Those were some of my favorite pictures. You couldn't help but watch this couple as they embraced each other tightly, whispering in each others ears. Ravyin also has a very close relationship with her grandparents so when she was dancing with her grandfather I teared up a few times.

Overall this was an amazing wedding and we enjoyed every second of it. May you two have a long and happy life together! Congrats on expecting your little one in 2013!
