The Garden of Eve

So sometimes I get these crazy ideas in my head for photoshoots, and I get so excited about them that I have to make my vision come true or I go crazy. Often times I can picture the clothing on the model, the model's features and a background. And I must say that lately I've come pretty darn close to my oringinal idea. Of course sometimes it has to change due to budget, not finding the right attire, or change of models, but than the photos always turn out great!

There's a place by my work that is very green, especially after all this rain fall we have been getting. Everytime I look at it I think, I need to do a photoshoot there. I told Mark my idea about an Eve photoshoot in this abandoned lot. Of course Mark thinks I'm crazy. He knows how I get when I get these ideas, I just get so excited. So anyways... long story short my friend Janay (yes you saw her in a post I did a few months ago) volunteered. She's a bit thinner than me, so the dress I originally had in mind wouldn't fit her. I told her she would need to get a white dress, and honestly I couldn't have been happier with her choice. The dress was perfect! When we met up, I did her hair and makeup which I think turned out very nicely for not being in beauty school. Everything was coming together great.

We were supposed to even get thunderstorms, and possible rain during our photoshoot but it never came. We even moved up our photoshoot by an hour or so just to try and avoid it, but the weather was perfect. Janay and I suffered from a few scratches from the strange plants on the lot. More so me than her, but she still got a few. Beauty is pain.... right?

We also got to take advantage of the beautiful evening lighting. I love how the photos turned out, and Janay was a perfect choice for this. Take a look, and I hope you love them just as much as I do.

Thanks again Janay! You looked fantastic, and did a great job.

Brrrr... It's cold outside

I've taken photos of Gabriel, Alexis, and their parents for the last two years. In fact Gabriel's newborn picture is our famous baby on the desk picture that we got so many comments about. (Thanks for all your support guys). Gabriel just turned 2 and Alexis just turned 8. Their birthdays are 5 days apart and so they have one big birthday party for both kids. I was lucky enough to get to go to the birthday party and see the kids have so much fun, and afterwards it was family photo time. We originally went to the park.... but after seeing Gabriel's little lips shiver we quickly had to change plans. Poor baby he was soo cold.

Mark and I took them to an indoor place that we were part of a photoshoot a long time ago at. It was a great little place and we had a good time. Gabriel did not want his photo taken, he wanted to go exploring like most 2 year olds do. Alexis was a good sport and smiled through all the pictures even though she was exhausted from the party. We definitely were presented with some challenges like the weather but I think the photos turned out great. Take a look!

Bubbles and Painting....

I've know Katie a few years now and you have seen her adorable daughter Annabelle on here a few times. She's a frequent flyer???? hahaha. No but really Annabelle has been a subject of our photography since she was a few months old and now she's almost 2. We love taking pictures of Katie and Annabelle because they let us go crazy with our silly ideas. First we take them to table rock, than we did photos in the freezing cold, than stuck Annabelle in all sorts of baskets, and who could forget about her adorable bug costume in the foothills. Well this time was no different... we had a lot of fun with these two beautiful girls. We read stories, we played with bubbles, we played on the playground, and even got dirty while finger painting.

Annabelle also got to meet our new member Fauzy the Muppet, he is our new puppet to help get kids to smile. Mark is great at making voices and so he is the hand behind it all. Annabelle was very quizical about the whole puppet but we still got some laughs out of her. If anything it stopped the tears. Once Annabelle saw how much fun we were going to have she decided no more tears. Katie said that when she took Annabelle home for a bath, that the water turned blue... that means that we had a lot of fun! :)Well these photos turned out fantastic and we can't wait to take photos of these two again! It's always an honor.

Thanks again Katie and Annabanannabelle!

Beautiful Baby Girl....Audree

You probably recognize the faces in these photos if you have followed our photography. We took Andy and Terra's engagements, wedding pictures, and newborn pictures of Miss Audree. We are so thankful and honored that we have gotten to be a part of all these special moments in their lives. Andy and Terra are our cousins... but not just cousins but also good friends. They have supported our photography business since we started and they are always so much fun to take photos of. This session was just a bit different because we haven't seen them in 7 months (when we did Audree's newborns) and so we had to catch up, and take photos all at once. Audree has grown and changed so much since we last saw her. We of course always enjoy their company and have a blast with them. Audree was so cute in all of her outfits that Terra picked out and she had some of the funniest expressions. You know me I love baby girls because you get to play dressup with fun dresses, cute head bands, and accessories. Girls just want to have fun... right? This girl is so cute though, and such a sweetheart to work with! I think she was confused by the camera though so we got some quizical photos, and she is also in that stage where everything goes in her mouth. That was the biggest challenge to get things to stay out of her mouth.

Terra would even sing "the frog song" to try and get Audree to smile, but Audree wasn't going to be that easy. We only got a few smiles from her, but I think the photos are adorable still and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks again Andy and Terra for letting us take photos of you guys, it's always a pleasure.

The Most Adorable Kids.....

I was thrilled when Janay asked me if Mark and I would take photos of her beautiful family. I've known Janay since Middle School, in fact strangely enough I remember when I met her. I was excited for us to take these pictures so I could catch up with an old friend, and see her adorable children. Janay has two of the most beautiful children. Not only are they super adorable, they are so well behaved. Janay should be proud.

Mark and I love family photoshoots just as much as any other photoshoot, but it wouldn't go without saying that sometimes during family photoshoots there are meltdowns from children, and frusterated parents that lead to sometimes difficult situations. Melt downs can lead to some precious photos, but not always the photos you want hanging on your wall. Logan and McKinsey were so great! The hardest part about the day was trying to get Logan to smile, but we finally got a smile from him. He was such a sweetie, he would take my hand when we walked to certain places for the next pose. So cute! For such a shy guy he was very friendly. McKinsey was such a good big sister, always trying to get Logan to smile and encouraging Logan to sit by her. What a great pair! Janay you have some of the best and most adorable kids I've met, and it would be an honor to take your family photos anytime you'd like. We hope you enjoy them!

Finally got a smile from Logan. Look at this sweet face!
