Little heart beats= Growing family

Our most recent photoshoot was a dear friend of mine who is expecting her second girl. We took her wedding pictures back in October and she has remained a loyal customer of ours. We  went to a bridge that I've always wanted to take pictures on... had to share it of course with the bikers on the greenbelt. And than we went to Albertson's Park which is always a beautiful place for pictures you just have to avoid the goose poop (which can be hard this time of the year). Thank you Rayvin, Justin, and Chailee for yet another great photoshoot! We can't wait to meet miss Davinee ( I hope I spelled that right). Rayvin you look beautiful and you are going to make a great mommy a second time around. It was a pleasure and you guys are so fun to be around. Hope you enjoyed your photos!

Two Lovebirds....

Last month we had the pleasure of taking photos at a beautiful wedding Hidden Springs. I had never been to Hidden Springs before, but what a great community to live in, secluded from the hustle and bustle of everday life. Alicia and Brad were making their vows at the Hidden Springs barn. We met up with the couple at the houses they were getting ready at. Alicia was at her parents, and Brad was a family friends house. Alicia had a gorgeous dress which she looked stunning in, and I loved the bridemaids/maid of honor dresses. Everything fit into the theme perfectly. I loved the idea of having something/someone so elegant loooking with a rustic background (the barn). As you all know getting ready/ detail shots are my FAVORITE! I think it's so important to capture all the tiny details of a wedding because those are things that we often forget. Alicia and Brad did not spare on the details of their wedding. There were so many things to take pictures of.

Right before the ceremony was about to begin... it started to rain so everyone quickly moved the wedding chairs inside the barn. The wedding instantly became a little bit more intimate and private which I really enjoy. Alicia and Brad were surrounded by people who supported and loved them dearly. That's the only way to have a wedding is to surround yourselves with the most important people in your lives... I belive that was part of the mother of the brides toast even. I remember looking over at the groom while we anxiously awaited the brides arrival and he was wiping away a tear. These two had been through a lot together and it was very obvious that they were head over heels in love with each other. It's those little moments that touch my heart and make me appreciate the opportunity to capture such moments in people's lives. Another favorite moment was when the mother of the bride got all teary eyed when helping her daughter get ready for her big day. There was so much love in the air at this weddnig, that we tried to capture every tear, smile, and kiss. Another great thing about this wedding was that the bride and groom sent out dance videos beforehand so when the DJ played certain songs the whole group could dance synchronized, I can officially say that we have never seen that at a wedding before. SO COOL! and what a great way to get your guests involved. Everyone was having a great time and enjoying the joyous occassion.

Brad and Alicia looked fantastic, and we wish them a long life full of happiness and joy. Enjoy their photos as it was a pleasure to take the photos for this wedding.

Costa Rica

Mark's cousin was getting married in Costa Rica, and we decided what a great time to go and visit yet another tropical destination. We stayed in a beautiful hotel, La Mariposa, in fact we even got a private villa which if it had a kitchen I may not have returned home. Costa Rica is a very beautiful area with a lot of rain forests and beautiful beaches. It is very humid there, and unfortuantely during our short trip we did not get to see a cloudless sky. Around our hotel we got to encounter a lot of animals, mainly monkeys and geckos. When we were on the beach we met an iguana and a sloth. Very cool! Mark and I met up with his cousins and aunts and uncles to enjoy the festivities. Allie and Mike got married on the hotels terrace looking over the ocean. It did rain on their wedding day.... but that wasn't unusual for Costa Rica. The saying goes when it rains, it pours. Mike and Allie did not let the rain stomp down on their beautiful blissful day. We enjoyed our time in Costa Rica, minus the 21 bug bites I came home with and what the humidity did to my hair. Check out our amazing trip and the beautiful couple.

Getting New Props

For Christmas Mark and I got new studio lights, we were so excited about this because we have dedicated a room in our house to be a small studio however the lighting was always inadequate. So what do you do when you get something new.... you have to test it out. For this we needed a model. We didn't have a photoshoot in mind, but I knew I wanted to photograph a boy. We get more opportunities to photograph girls than boys, and I thought what a great way to use some of our ther props and develop our photography even more. A loyal customer of ours referred her friend who had a boy around the age we were looking for. We were super excited. Jared is a super cute boy, and has the most adorable face. I know, I know I say that all the time. But seriously check out this handsome little guy....

One time we went to a yard sale and we often find fun props at yard sales, craigslist, and the antique shop or thrift stores. There was a beautiful vanity there for real inexpensive. Mark knows that I have been wanting a children's vanity for a very long time. Eventually I want to paint it white and put it in hopefully a little girls room some day. But once again I had this new prop and my head was swirling with ideas. Once Mark and I come up with an idea we want to see it come to life.... so we made the annoucement once again looking for volunteers. One of our old high school buddies volunteered her little girl. What daughter doesn't want to play dress up and play with makeup? She was such a little cutie...but would not smile for  us.... that's ok though because she made the photoshoot feel more vintage and that was the way I took the photos. Take a look at yet another cutie!

This one is my favorite! She looks like a precious little doll.
