Erica's Getting Married

One of our friends that you have seen photographed several times before referred Erica to us to take pictures of her bridal shower. Erica is the sweetest person I have met. Her bridal shower was at Cottonwood Grille. Beautiful location for such a special occasion. I arrived before Erica and started to take pictures of the party favors and the table settings. Erica arrived and we finally met. This just tells you how sweet of a person she is she gave me a card thanking me for our service and telling me how appreciative she was that she got to meet me..... We had just met and my work had just begun.

They played a few different games for the bridal shower, and than they had lunch. Which I also got lunch as well and it was delicious. Thank you Cottonwood Grille and Erica for a delicious lunch. After everyone ate lunch than Erica opened her presents. Did I mention how sweet Erica is??? I've never seen someone get so excited over towels and basic kitchen items. What a sweetheart. It's clear that everyone just adores Erica and I can see why. The best part was when she opened Scramble. Apparently she had been wanting that game forever and finally someone got it for her. The other cool part about the shower is when she opened her gift from her mom. I guess after her first date with her finance she came home and was talking to her mom about her date and she rated him. She wrote different things down on a card. WELL HER MOM SAVED IT. It was fantastic.

Thank you again Erica for letting me share this occasion with you! You have been a pleasure to work for, and I look forward to your wedding reception. Enjoy the photos!

High School Senior.....

I got the pleasure to take Taylor's high school senior pictures. You've seen her in our photos before because she has been a test model for us before. I work with Taylor's mom (who is also one of my closest friends). I've known Taylor for about the last 4-5 years and have watched her go from a girl to a beautiful young woman.

We went out to the Idaho State Pennitentary for the photoshoot. We didn't go inside, but I think we got some great shots of just the area around the penn. Thank you Taylor for a great photoshoot and a beautiful girl. Hope you love them as much as I do.

Bryan and Charmaine Got Hitched

Mark and I were lucky enough to get to go to Bryan and Charmaine's wedding in California. It was a last minute opportunity that became available, and we had to juggle a few things but we are so thankful that we got the chance to go. I had only met Mark's aunt Barb and his Nana before from this side of the family. So it was so nice to finally get to meet his other cousins and his other aunt. The only one I have yet to meet is his uncle Rob and his family. Maybe someday.  So we flew in the day before the wedding into San Jose and stayed with Mark's aunt Barb (mother of the groom.) Thank you Barb for your hospitality. Later I got to meet the cousins and aunt I just mentioned as they came into town.

Bryan and Charmaine's wedding was set up in the Santa Cruz mountains in the Redwoods at a place called Nestledown. OMG THIS PLACE WAS BEAUTIFUL. It was like a fairytale. They had a beautiful "barn" where the reception was going to be held, a little cottage that was all decorated inside made a great photo prop, as well as a train, old fashioned car, and little statues throughout the place. There was a lion, a camel, a bride and groom statue, etc. Little benches everywhere, and where the ceremony was held was absolutely breathtaking. It was by a pond with a fountain down a wooden staircase. BEAUTIFUL. They had a 50's themed wedding, and since that is my favorite decade I was stoked.

We arrived Friday afternoon to start taking pictures. We met the girls at a house that was set up on the hill. Charmaine looked stunning. She had two dresses. Her ceremony dress was a beautiful fitted full length gown with lace and a beaded belt, and for the reception she changed into a tea lenth puffy lacey sexy dress. Charmaine looked beautiful in both of them. Bryan and Charmaine had a large bridal party of 8 attendants, and they were wearing red and black. The girls dresses were perfect. They were fitted pinup like dresses and the boys wore black tuxes with red vests and than changed into white shirts with red suspenders. They had two flower girls WHO WERE FREAKING ADORABLE. Marley, and Cameron- we became little buddies for the day wore tutus. so cute. Their brother, Gabe, was in a white shirt with red suspenders. Everyone was so cooperative and so helpful that day.

The ceremony was so beautiful, and so touching. I think Charmaine was a little nervous, but that's ok who isn't on their wedding day. After the ceremony the guests headed over for cocktail hour where they could get a lemon drop, soda, some kind of alcoholic tea, or beer. They also could ride the train, play bocce ball, and eat cotton candy. After the bride and groom arrived on the train we headed over to the dining part of the event. They were serving hamburgers and hot dogs- perfect for the 50's diner experience. We watched some very emotional toasts. These two are so loved, its amazing. The toasts were heartfelt, funny, and there were lots of tears.

Next we went into the "barn" for the reception to really begin. This is where the dancing took place. Bryan and Charmaine danced to a beautiful slow song, and than broke out into a swing dance. What a cute couple these two are, you can tell they have so much fun with each other. They did a a great job on their dance. The weekend was so much fun and Mark and I are so honored and blessed that we got to join these two lovebirds for their special day. I'm so thankful that I got to meet the rest of the family (most of them anyway), and they all were so great to us. Welcomed me into the family with open arms.  Thanks Casey for letting us use your room. :) The next day we went to San Fransico which was an adventure all in its self. Enjoy the pictures of the Walsh wedding. May these two live a long and happy life together.

Trash Two Dresses

So Mark and I had been wanting to do a "trass the dress" photoshoot for awhile now, we just needed a volunteer. Thankfully it was starting to get warmer, and so we decided it would be a good time, so our models didint' freeze. Well they froze anyway even though it was a nice hot day. SORRY! Well one of our friends Cheryl (yes you've seen pictures of her before) volunteered, and she and her husband had just gotten married so it was perfect. She was totally ok with "trashing" her dress. Now I just had to find the perfect spot.

I searched and searched, but nothing met my vision. Yes I have visions when it comes to our photography. Don't judge. :) Finally we went out to dinner at the Bardenay (LOVE IT BY THE WAY) and went down by the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle. And there it was the most romantic little spot, kind of private, and had a stream with a little bit of beach as well as the river not too far away. IT WAS PERFECT!

When we went to meet with Cheryl she had a surprise for us letting us know that her friends were going to tag along. My first thought was panic... how am I going to incorporate two couples into what I had imagined as romantic and intimate. Cheryl had told us that her friend Genii was going to be wearing Cheryl's first wedding dress which was a different style. After seeing the two dresses it actually worked out great to have the two couples because we could get different shots with the two completely different dresses. Genii and Brent were such a great couple to work with, as well as Cheryl and Peter. They all had great chemistry and knew how to have fun. Although I think they might have regretted volunteering for a bit when I made them get into the FREEZING cold river. They didn't really complain, and were still good sports although I knew they were super cold.

We made them get wet, lie in the sand, play with mud it was a blast. We also got to take some pictures with Brents motorcycle and Peters car that he is rebuilding. Cool props! Overall I think the photoshoot turned out fantastic and we had SOOOO much fun. These two couples had us laughing so hard, I thought our guts were going to burst. We even got some fair shots out of the photoshoot. Take a look, I hope you enjoy.
